Targeting the glutes, hamstrings, and calves, our Floor Glute Ham builds the strongest. Unlike a glute/ham raise, the knees are in a fixed position and cannot drop or "cheat". Most will need the assistance given by a resistance band, placed from the shoulders to the band peg on top of the foot plate.
For progressive strength training, reduce the band assistance gradually, with an end goal of using zero assistance or possibly a hand held weight for resistance.
For increasing pure speed and strength, this is a superior choice over isolation leg curl machines as it engages the toes-calves-hamstrings-glutes in the same firing pattern as is used when running and jumping. This is a huge benefit for athletic development and in reducing hamstring and knee injuries.
